Proposed Visit to HMS Belfast, London

October 1 @ 10:30 am - 2:30 pm

Proposed visit to HMS Belfast

We are planning a visit to HMS Belfast on the morning of Thursday 1 October. This will be a great event, particularly for those with an interest in naval history. HMS Belfast is a cruiser that served in WW2 and later in the Koran war.

She is moored close to Tower Bridge with London Bridge being the closest railway station. We will be shown round by an expert team with refreshments being provided beforehand. Meeting time will be 1030 and the tour will last about two hours starting at 1100. Afterwards we will book a nearby restaurant for lunch.

We need a party of at least 15. However, in view of the relatively early start in the centre of London there is a concern that Fellows – especially those outside the greater London area – might find the arrangements “challenging”. Because of this it is important that we have a strong indication of attendance. At this stage we are in a position to cancel if numbers seem low. We will put the tickets on sale on the website when we have a good idea of numbers. Bearing in mind the points above, could you please send an email to committee member, David Lansdowne, indicating your likely attendance – lansassoc@aol.com
