Annual Golf Match – The Fellowship v MTGS

Another wonderful day at Beaconsfield Golf Club, where the intrepid Fellowship team had their annual match against our friends the MTGS. Beaconsfield is an exceptional golf course and despite the dry weather over the last few weeks was in great shape.
The weather was very hot and humid but teams battled through and were rewarded by a really super lunch in the Marquee (The clubhouse is going through a major renovation).
Whilst this is a golf match the major enjoyment is meeting up with Fellows and our great friends from the MTGS, some of who are also members of the Fellowship.
Despite our best endeavours, and some very close matches, we again lost to a strong MTGS team, 4-2.
Captain Ray Sommerville, as always, organised our team and liaised with Paul Healy and Joff Suter from the MTGS to ensure everything went very smoothly – which indeed it did!
Over a late lunch MTGS President, Ian Hill, thanked everyone for their attendance and also Beaconsfield Golf Club for their excellent service, after which I responded and also (in good grace!) presented Ian with the Trophy which they have now won 4 years running. But we are not down hearted and will be back next year – and with a few new members who are golfers our luck may change!
My personal thanks to Captain Ray, as without him these events would not happen.
