Visit to the Bentley Experience

A tremendous day was enjoyed by over 20 Fellows when we visited the Bentley factory in Crewe. From the moment we arrived at the Bentley Visitors Centre to the moment we departed, the whole experience was one that made you hugely aware of the professionalism and pride that the Bentley team have for their work and their wonderful cars. Both our guides, Jonathan and William not only made us very welcome, but their enthusiasm for their jobs and for all things Bentley are a credit to them. The tour began with a presentation of Bentley through the ages, followed by being able to view some of the rarest of their cars, before heading off into the factory itself. Once inside, one could not miss how clean and well planned the whole production process was. Bentley have embraced the modern way of motor manufacturing while not losing any of the awe-inspiring handmade aspects of their cars that they are famous for worldwide. The production team were happy to chat to us with pride about their roles, and the memory of watching a steering wheel being handmade will stay with us all for a very long time! The tour concluded with photo opportunities back at the Visitor Centre before we headed out for lunch at the recommended venue, the Bears Paw, for a well earned lunch and refreshments. A very memorable day, and a great start to the year for the Fellowships event programme.
