Tour of the National Motor Museum, Beaulieu

May 15 @ 11:00 am - 2:30 pm

£20.00

Thanks to Fellowship member, Guy Loveridge, who has recently joined the National Motor Museum, Beaulieu, as their Heritage Consultant we had a really wonderful tour of the Museum which included a unique opportunity to look “behind the scenes” and be shown around the archives which was fascinating – the scale of which was a total surprise.

Our thanks naturally goes to Guy, for making the arrangements and being our guide on the day, and also to CEO, Jon Murden and Curator, Patrick Collins. Jon provided a really informative overview of the history of the museum and indeed their plans for the future. Patrick’s knowledge of the archives was truly impressive and he showed us a number of items that go back to the 1890’s when car magazines were first published. Also the vast collection of memorabilia from old road signs, petrol pumps, and artwork was great to see.

The tour of the actual museum really lived up to expectations and the variety of exceptional vehicles was stunning. The Fellowship party enjoyed a lunch in the restaurant following which Guy gave us a personal tour of the newly refurbished Palace House which provided a  splendid end to a memorable day, leaving us to drive home with very happy memories of an exceptional visit.

We would hope to be able to have another visit to the National Motor Museum in 2026 – it is hugely recommended so do look out for details in due course.
