Tour of JLR Classic

After the unprecedented success of last year’s visits to JLR Classic, there was an exciting air as FMI guests started arriving in Coventry for this year’s visit. A full complement of Fellows enjoyed a lovely lunch upon arrival and were welcomed warmly by Lisa Cotterell who runs the tours for Classic. Once refreshed, the tour was lead by a retired JLR Engineering Director. It started immediately with a comprehensive tour of the workshop facility where Fellows witnessed customers cars being worked on, ‘recreations’ being built and JLR’s rich heritage being preserved for generations to come. Through the vast workshop, the tour went into what can only be described as the Aladdin’s Cave of JLR Classic. A large collection of Jaguars and Land Rovers stored in an orderly fashion in a warehouse facility. Real beauties, many of which were awaiting their turn for refurbishing. The tour concluded with a good look around the showroom, admiring the beautiful creations, many of which were for sale, with some tempting offers on show! A great tour again, and maybe another next year if Fellows wish it.
