Tour of Aston Martin Heritage Trust

30 Fellows and guests visited the AMHT in splendid South Oxfordshire countryside, albeit several of us had sat-nav malfunction and saw more of the landscape on the way than expected!
The Trust is located in a wonderful wooden barn that was renovated thanks to a number of generous donations. Our host Dom Walker was very knowledgeable about Aston Martin’s history and also the background to the cars on display which included the first car that they produced. The tour lasted nearly two hours, and without doubt a number of us were feeling the effects of standing for that long, with chairs in short supply, but we got through it being made of strong stuff!!
After the tour most of us made our way to the Bat and Ball pub some 6 miles away in Cuddesdon, albeit thanks to a large tractor blocking the road we had a bit of a delay to get the pub which was tantalisingly in sight! But we all made it and enjoyed good food and fellowship with much fun and banter – typical ingredients of a Fellowship event. Our thanks go to Committee member Ray Sommerville for organising the day and arranging such super weather.
