The 2024 Southwest & South Wales Luncheon

A bright sunny day greeted Fellows and guests at the Southwest and South Wales lunch at the Walnut Tree Hotel in North Somerset. Fellows Tony Ham and Brian Spratt once again welcomed everyone to this very informal luncheon at which there are no speeches, just great conversation, and anecdotes. Pictured above is Fellowship chairman, Peter Cottle, who thanked Tony and Brian for organising this very friendly event.
A precise two dozen were lunching together this year, almost double the attendance in 2023. Sadly Sid and Ellen Ekers were unable to join the group as planned; get well soon, Sid ! Our staunch band of regular supporters from South Wales joined the group, with Fellow Colin Allen providing both Grace and jokes aplenty !
The Walnut Tree in North Petherton is a lovingly restored 18th Century Coaching Inn, bursting with charm and character, situated between Taunton and Bridgwater. The chef and his staff provided an excellent three-course lunch and, unsurprisingly, a little wine was taken as well !
The room was a bustle of chatter and laughter as memories and jokes were shared. On departure there was much handshaking and hugging, and promises to be there again in 2025. Bring your friends !
A BIG thank you to Brian and Tony for arranging this splendid lunch, and another BIG thank you to all who brought raffle prizes, for which the amazing sum of £174 was raised for our trade charity BEN.
