Fellowship v MTGS Golf Day
August 6
We played our now annual match against our great friends from the Motor Trades Golfing Society at the splendid Beaconsfield Golf Club. The course was in fantastic condition, and despite unexpected rain for the duration it did not dampen the enjoyment and fellowship. There were 6 matches, with most being very tightly contested. The final score was a win for the MTGS by 4-2.
We are always grateful to the MTGS, firstly for fitting our match into their very full calendar of events, and for Paul Healy for making all the arrangements with the club. Our golf Captain, Ray Sommerville, was unable to join us but thank you Ray for organising team selection and liaising with the MTGS.
After the golf we enjoyed each others company over an excellent late lunch, Joff Suter thanked everyone for their involvement and congratulated the staff at the Beaconsfield Golf Club for looking after us so well. Joff then toasted the Fellowship team and I responded to toast the MTGS team. In summary a wonderful day among friends, old and new, with much laughter and banter. We were encouraged by our performance and look forward to the 2025 match, and to hopefully winning the day.
